We keep our rare and traditional breed sheep and pigs on open pasture to organic principles so that you can really taste the difference in the meat. We do not believe in intensive farming methods and take the welfare of our stock very seriously.

By keeping rare breeds we make the breed commercially viable so that its numbers ultimately improve. Most commercial cross breed animals are bred for quick growth and fattening and often lose their flavour in the process.

We produce home grown lamb and pork for our family and friends all year round so please do contact us if you would like to sample our home reared produce. We believe that if more people experience the quality of rare breed meats this will help increase the demand and help save the breeds. 

We can sell sheep skins that are organically tanned.

Our Sheep

SOAY
This is a primitive breed and produces a very distinct flavoured meat that is slow to mature. The meat is very lean and close grained. The skins they produce are very beautiful and range from light tan to dark chocolate.

BLACK WELSH MOUTAIN
This is an ancient breed that was prized for the flavour of its mutton in the middle ages. The meat has a close grain, is very succulent and has little wasteful fat. They produce amazing black sheepskins.

WHITE FACE WOODLANDS.

Our Pigs

Our herd of Large Black Pigs are raised on open pasture and woodland. They are allowed to mature naturally which produces beautiful pork and bacon that is lower in fat than many commercial breeds.
